La Maison Verte would be a fantastic investment as a rental property or as a second home. For holidaymakers, it is the perfect base to explore this attractive and delightful area full of meandering valleys with quaint villages and rolling farmland.
Location-wise it is within very easy access of cities such as Paris, Versailles and Reims.
Activity and exploration-wise, there is much to choose from; the nearby Cote d'Opale is full of delights from the chic avenues of Le Touquet with fabulous shops and bars, Bolougne Sur Mer with its' walled old town, Berck which is altogether a more bucket and spade type of place. Huge expanses of beaches and a little further along you can find pretty fishing towns such as St Valery and Le Crotoy. In land there is Azincourt, Arras with its' fabulous square designed by the same architect that built much of Amsterdam, Hesdin and Amiens, all towns full of history and something to discover. The battlefields of WW 1&2 are all nearby and certainly make for a thought-provoking visit.
Montreuil itself is famous for being a favourite spot of Victor Hugo and the opening scenes of Les Miserables are set there. For this reason also, the area is very popular with tourists and holidaymakers.
As a second home, the property has everything on its' doorstep, including shops, restaurants, a pharmacy, supermarket, bakery and much more.

Montreuil itself is famous for being a favourite spot of Victor Hugo and the opening scenes of Les Miserable are set there. The town does a yearly Son et Lumiere show of Les Miserables where all the locals put on quite a spectacle in the grounds of old citadel, a very atmospheric experience. All in all, this is a lovely area, perfect for weekend breaks but with more than enough to do for longer too.
There are a selection of excellent restaurants to choose from including a 2x Michel Star Chateau and local bistros. There is also a charming weekly market.
